Brashley Vineyards is a dog-friendly family-owned winery and tasting room in Anderson Valley in Philo, CA. You’ll find it on Highway 128 in their newly remodeled space, which gives you a real sense of a fresh start for the place. Owners Ashley and Bram came all the way from upstate New York (yes, Schenectady) and first visited Anderson Valley in 2017 for the AV Pinot Festival. They fell hard for the area’s combination of serious wine and genuinely welcoming people, and by 2018 they’d found their spot: 20 acres called Hacienda Sequoia with a small vineyard already there.

The vineyard has some real history. It’s planted entirely with Pommard clone grapes and has been tended by skilled winemakers over the years, which shows in the quality. Brashley sources a majority of their grapes from their own 10 acres of Pinot Noir split between Hacienda Sequoia and the adjoining Bevel Vineyards, which they recently acquired. You’ll taste wines made from fruit they know intimately.

The patio is genuinely lovely, and that’s where your dog comes in. They’re completely welcome to hang out while you do a tasting. The team will bring water for your dog without you having to ask, and of course they’ll handle the wine side of things for you. It’s the kind of setup that works because no one’s pretending—they know some people want to bring their dogs, so they’ve built that into how they operate.

You can make a reservation through their website, which is smart on weekends when things get busy, but they’ll take walk-ins if there’s room available. The location right on Highway 128 makes it an easy stop if you’re exploring Anderson Valley’s wine scene.
