Casa Cassara Tasting Room

1607 Mission Dr., Ste. 112, Solvang, California 93463

Casa Cassara has been producing wine in the Santa Rita Hills and Santa Ynez Valley since 1998, and their Solvang tasting room sits in a convenient spot just off Atterdag on the northeast side of Mission Street. The parking lot behind the building makes it easy to grab your dog and head inside without much fuss.

Once you’re in, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere where dogs are genuinely welcome to join you while you taste through their selection of wines. The room has that unpretentious feel you want when you’re traveling with a dog—nobody’s going to give you a look if your dog shifts around a bit or wants to sit close by while you’re sipping. The wines themselves reflect decades of experience; the winery’s been cultivating grapes in this region since 1992, so they know what they’re doing with the local terroir.

If you’re exploring the Santa Barbara County wine region, this is a solid stop that doesn’t force you to leave your dog in the car or make difficult choices about where to spend your afternoon. The tasting experience is straightforward and focused on the wine rather than being overly formal or stuffy. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax, which is exactly what makes wine tasting fun when you’re traveling.

The location works well if you’re spending time in Solvang itself—you’re close enough to other shops and restaurants in the Danish-themed downtown that you could make a full afternoon of it. Just bring water for your dog, since tasting rooms can be warm and you’ll be focused on the wine for a bit. The staff can point you toward nearby spots if you want to stretch your legs afterward.
