Surrounded by the rolling vineyard landscape of Geyserville, deLorimier Winery offers one of Sonoma County’s most dog-friendly tasting experiences. The real draw here is the back patio, where you get sweeping views across the entire valley while your dog can stretch out on the grass beside you.

The winery focuses on Bordeaux varietals — Cabernet Sauvignon, Meritage, Malbec, and Primitivo — and their tasting room staff handles both wine education and dog visitors with equal ease. What struck me most was how naturally they accommodate dogs on the outdoor patio. There’s actual space for your dog to move around, not just squeeze into a tight corner while you’re perched on a barstool.

Many people come prepared for a proper afternoon, bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy while tasting. The vineyard backdrop makes it feel less like you’re at a commercial tasting room and more like you’ve been invited to someone’s private estate. The patio gets decent afternoon sun, so if you’re visiting in summer, arriving earlier in the day means your dog won’t be baking. There’s also shade available if you need it.

The atmosphere stays relaxed throughout — no one’s rushing you through tastings or making you feel like you need to buy immediately. Staff members ask genuine questions about what you like rather than launching into a memorized script. If your dog is well-mannered around other visitors, you’ll likely have a pleasant experience, though it can get busy on weekends.

The location in Geyserville puts you near several other wineries if you want to make a longer day of it, though parking is straightforward here. Bring water for your dog and plan to stay for at least a couple of hours to make the drive worthwhile. The patio views genuinely are worth the visit on their own.
