Klinker Brick Winery sits in the heart of Lodi’s wine country, and it’s one of the few places where you can actually bring your dog along while you’re tasting. The winery focuses on serious winemaking—they’re particular about how their grapes are grown, from dormancy through harvest, and that attention shows in what ends up in the bottle.

When you visit, you can tour the vineyard and barrel room to see how they actually make their wines. It’s not a rushed experience; they take time to walk you through what goes into each vintage. The outdoor patio is where most people end up spending time, and dogs are genuinely welcome to hang out while you’re tasting. Your dog can relax in the shade while you work through their lineup.

The vineyard grounds themselves are nice to walk around. It’s Central Valley landscape—flat, warm, and honestly pretty quiet compared to what you might expect from a wine region. If your dog gets restless sitting at a table, there’s room to move around, though it’s not like there are dedicated hiking trails or anything.

They’ve built a reputation for quality wines, and the staff knows what they’re doing. You’re not getting the glossy experience of some Napa operations, but there’s something refreshing about that. It feels like actual winemakers who happen to like dogs, rather than a business that added dogs as an afterthought.

Wine tasting itself isn’t free—there’s a fee to taste through their current releases—but they’re straightforward about pricing and what you get. If you’re heading through Lodi’s wine country and have your dog with you, this is legitimately a good option. Just bring water for your dog and maybe a blanket if the ground’s too hot that day.
