Located in Dry Creek Valley just west of Healdsburg, Kokomo Winery sits on 120 acres of premium vineyards with a genuinely relaxed approach to dogs joining you for the afternoon. The setting itself is the draw—rolling vines, valley views, and enough space that your dog won’t feel cramped while you’re tasting wines.

The winery has a picnic area and bocce ball court overlooking the valley, and dogs are welcome to hang out with you while you work through their portfolio. The bocce setup is a nice touch if you want to actually do something besides sit and sip, and your dog can lounge nearby without being in the way. The wines are solid—they’ve won awards for their reds and whites—so you’re not just paying for the view, though the view is definitely part of the experience.

What makes this work for a dog visit is the space. Dry Creek Valley wineries can feel tight and formal, but Kokomo has the acreage to feel open and informal. Your dog gets to move around a bit, there’s shade in places, and the whole vibe is more “come hang out” than “stay in your designated dog zone.” I’d bring a water bowl and maybe a blanket if you want to spread out during your visit.

The place functions as Timber Crest Farms, so if you’re already familiar with that name in the area, that’s where you’re headed. Go on a weekday if you can—weekends fill up and the bocce court gets competitive in ways that can stress dogs who don’t love crowds. Call ahead to confirm they’re open and to ask about any specific seasonal hours or events.
