Longboard Vineyards sits in the Healdsburg wine country, and owner Oded Shakked designed the place around two things he loves: surfing and wine. Since starting in 1998, he’s built relationships with local grape growers while tending his own vineyards over on Westside Road, and that deep connection to Sonoma terroir shows in what’s in the glass.
The tasting room is genuinely relaxed. You’ll see a longboard bar, leather sofas, and surf movies playing on a big screen—the whole place has that laid-back beach vibe without trying too hard. Dogs are welcome to hang out while you taste through their wines, which means you’re not stuck choosing between wine and your dog’s company. It’s the kind of place where people actually bring their dogs and everyone seems fine with it.
The space transforms a bit at night when locals start showing up. It becomes more of a gathering spot, still casual, just with more people around. The energy stays low-key either way.
One thing worth knowing: call ahead about their current dog policy and any guidelines they have. Wineries adjust these things seasonally or based on how busy they are, so confirming before you go saves frustration. The vineyards around the tasting room are worth exploring on foot if you’ve got time—the landscape here is genuinely nice for a walk, especially the rolling hills heading toward the other properties on Westside Road. If you’re spending a day wine tasting in Healdsburg anyway, this is a straightforward choice for somewhere your dog can actually come inside rather than waiting in the car.
