Pennyroyal Farm sits right at the entrance to Anderson Valley, where a working goat and sheep dairy shares the land with vineyard rows and a working creamery. Everything served here—the wines, the cheeses, the ingredients for lunch—comes from what they’ve actually grown and raised on their regenerative farm. It’s the kind of place where you can taste the specificity of what one piece of land produces.

When you arrive with your dog, there’s an enclosed off-leash dog park by the parking lot, which is genuinely useful if your dog needs to burn off energy before settling down. For the main experience, dogs are welcome on the patio for wine and cheese tastings or a farmstead lunch paired with a bottle of wine. Your dog needs to stay on leash while you’re out there, and they can’t wander into the culinary garden, but you’ll have plenty of room to relax together at a table.

The one real constraint is if you want to tour the farm itself. The property has a guardian dog and a llama protecting the goats and sheep, and they don’t take kindly to unfamiliar animals. So if you book a tour, your dog either needs to stay on the patio under your watch or wait in your car while you’re gone. It’s worth knowing upfront so you can plan accordingly—you might skip the tour and just enjoy the tasting and food, or you might go for the tour knowing your dog has that secure off-leash space nearby.

The combination of actually good wine and cheese made right there, plus a setting where you can sit outside with your dog on a nice day, makes it more than just another winery stop. Call ahead to reserve your patio spot so they know you’re coming with your dog.
