Reeve Wines sits about a mile past the Dry Creek General Store, four miles north of downtown Healdsburg in Sonoma County. The winery opened in 2015 when the founders decided to focus on small-batch California wines with real attention to balance and finesse—the kind of wines that don’t need to shout to get your attention. They named the place after their four-year-old son, which tells you something about their priorities.

What matters most if you’re bringing your dog: they genuinely welcome leashed dogs during tastings and tours. I’ve found that some wineries are tolerant of dogs but clearly uneasy about it. That’s not the case here. The setting is genuinely pleasant, with enough space that you won’t feel cramped while you’re working through their lineup. The property has that quiet, focused feel you get at smaller operations where people care more about the wine itself than the Instagram moment.

The winery specializes in wines that show restraint—not overoaked, not overwrought. If you’ve spent time in Healdsburg hitting the bigger, busier tasting rooms along the town plaza, this spot offers something different. You’re far enough out that it doesn’t feel like you’re part of a tasting room circuit. The location means you could easily combine a visit with exploring Dry Creek Road itself, which has several other small wineries and the actual Dry Creek General Store if you need snacks.

The drive out isn’t long, but it does take you away from the downtown crowds. That’s exactly the point. Bring your dog, spend some time with wines made with actual intention, and actually taste what you’re drinking without background noise. That’s the experience here.
