Tres Sabores is a small, family-owned ranch located on the western Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley, where they grow organically certified Zinfandel, Cabernet, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot grapes along with olives, Meyer lemons and exotic pomegranate cultivars. The setting feels genuinely intimate—this isn’t a polished tasting room operation but rather a working vineyard where you’ll actually see what they’re producing.
The winery welcomes guests by appointment seven days a week starting at 10am, and they deliberately keep group sizes small so the owner and hospitality team can spend real time with you. Most visits run about 90 minutes and include a walk through the organically managed vineyards and gardens, a visit to the cave, and tastings of at least five wines from their current portfolio of estate and single-vineyard selections. The personalized attention makes a real difference—you’re not moving through a assembly line but rather getting to know the operation and the people behind it.
Your dog will fit right in here. The ranch property offers plenty of outdoor space to explore, and while dogs start on leash, many are able to go leash-free once they settle in and you get a sense of the layout. The Golden Retrievers that live on the property are used to visiting dogs and help set a relaxed tone. This is genuinely dog-friendly in a practical way rather than just in theory—the owners actually have dogs themselves and understand what makes a visit work for both people and their animals.
Because they take reservations and limit numbers intentionally, you won’t feel rushed or crowded. If you’re thinking of dropping by without a reservation, call ahead to check for an opening rather than showing up and hoping for the best. Spring and early summer are especially nice times to visit when the gardens are in full growth, though the quieter shoulder seasons can also be pleasant if you prefer fewer other visitors around.
